Missing out key words

It’s easy to make typos, it’s even easy to miss out a single key word in a sentence (or, in this case, two key words). Your brain can tell you that you’ve already typed the words even though you haven’t.
It’s just as easy for people to miss the mistake when they read the sentence back. We’ve seen very smart people read a sentence over and over and always say the missing key words. Their brain fills in the gap and tells them that the words are there when they clearly aren’t.
That’s where we come in. It’s either a gift or a curse, depending on your point of view, but we have eyes and brains that are acutely attuned to spotting errors. We tend to think the errors are obvious but we understand how people who are not cursed this way might think otherwise.
